Joy Seu

Student Intern

Hi everyone, I’m Joy, a graduate intern at UCF, working toward a masters in clinical mental health counseling. I live laugh love therapy because the safe space it opens for growth. I approach therapy with a Person-centered approach, meaning our relationship is to be based on congruence, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. Therapy isn’t one size fits all, so we’ll find out what works best for you. I have coursework in play therapy, but love any opportunity to connect with people. I have had previous experiences working with young adults and adolescents in areas like anxiety and depression, core beliefs, and life adjustment. Outside of counseling, I love to be reset with watching Seinfeld with my two cat children, a good bowl of soup, or get moving with weight training, a simple walk, or something more restorative. With my own share of counseling experiences as a client, i know how overwhelming it can be to find a fitting therapist. My hope to help ease some of obstacles of searching for help, and provide a comfy environment from the get go!
